Steve Bell and the Royal Wedding . . . P.S.

So I sent Steve Bell a message and he answered immediately:

Dear Rowland
Thanks for asking. If you let me know which image you want I could save you the trouble of scanning it.
All the best
Steve Bell

A gentleman and a scholar- so here is the postcard

Anyway it’s all excellent stuff – – there’s lots here www.belltoons.co.uk

Steve Bell and the Royal Wedding . . .

A friend send me a postcard of Steve Bell’s cartoons- which I actually scanned to include here but I thought ‘would I want my stuff reproduced without permission or even a courtesy call’ well I probably would but he’s a famous and successful cartoonist  . . . so I’ve not included it but I might drop him a line just to see if it would be OK.

Observations

A while ago I mentioned Alan Fletcher and his observations-, and an idea that I’ve been  developing. It involves writing and over-writing, in my case on a grey base – it’s visual  word association though in some instances there is some sort of significance to the final image – the darkness of the one entitled Despair and the more light-hearted notion of the six strings in Guitar. Let me know what you think.

Trescore British Blues Festival- Rowland Jones Band with Locomotive Breath . . . . .

Haven’t posted for a while due to having been away in the North performing at this festival -with my trio – Guido Pietrella on bass, and Gianluca Meconcelli on drums… and, of course, the support of my wife, Lesley

Was great fun and as it was Alex’s birthday we sang Happy Birthday to him in Welsh/Italian: ‘Penblwydd Hapus a te!!
