Just when I though I’d discovered something really unusual that the Welsh had invented, it turns the Italians MAY be able to claim ownership. Ah well, I am at least Italian ‘per scelta’ !! I’ll go along with that. 🙂 Pob Hwyl!! Why and how did you discover this gem of information? A book called ‘Bred of Heaven’ where an ‘Englishman’ seeks his Welsh roots! “…to avoid the tedious repetition of these words: “is equal to”, I will set a pair of parallels of one length (thus =), because no two things can be more equal” Traduzione: “…per evitare la noiosa ripetizione di queste parole: “è uguale a”, userò un paio di linee parallele di uguale lunghezza (quindi =), perché non ci sono due cose uguali tra loro più di due rette parallele.” e vero—hai capito bene … ma chi ha usato prima e un altro discorso 🙂 I’m swimming without a paddle on this subject, so I guess I’ll resort to the Godfather movies in posting my comment (completely unrelated to this post, mind you) . . . The Italians decided a long time ago it was better if they left the guns (war) and took the cannolis (cuisine). And I am not complaining in the least about this decision. They also claim that the notion of perspective was an idea from the Italian renaissance – whereas the Arab scholar Alhazen was postulating it about 400 years earlier . . . but what the hell! hand me another glass of Orvieto classico . . . 🙂 salute . .I love ’em I will drink to the Italian Renaissance, and to the Arab scholar Alhazen, and to 400 years earlier and to Orvieto classico. Crap, just give me the bottle and send me to a corner. I’ll be there with you in a sec . . . Any thoughts? Cancel reply Enter your comment here...
