Rowland- Do not speak badly of the machines. Especially when you happen to be using said machine. Not good. Remember, we meet in the abandoned factory for these matters. So we can organize a revolt. It’s your turn to bring the beer, by the way.

re answering machines
My father never quite understood them coming from an era where secretaries wore twinset and pearls and didn’t have to be plugged in(!) He’d leave a message that began: ‘It’s his father here….’ as if the machine might say “your Dad just called . . . . . . .

What happens with these sort of Awards? does somebody send me something? A bottle of champagne? A brooch? A terse and direct announcement? or what?

Any thoughts?
