–it’s not black, it’s not landscape, it’s not portrait, it’s not even a Moleskine
IT”S GREEN AND SQUARE
This is my first entry, a rough idea which is the next post- entitled “Being Schwarzenegger”
As I recount on the page, a LOOOONG drive there, then discover that the three gigs are two hours drive away and outdoors – it’s cold and on the last gig it rains and the door falls off Flavinho’s Citroen when we get back to the house….. all in all we had a fabulous time!!!
Emilio who owned who owned the agriturismo where we stayed and organised the gigs couldn’t have done more for us- never-ending supply of food and drink. Flavinho was just as I remembered him- full of Brazilian enthusiasm! Also met Zam Moustapha Dembele from Mali and Ismaila Mbaye from Senegal. I’d never played African rhythms before – it was wonderful! They were all lovely guys and wonderful percussionists! I hope one day we’ll play together again. Thank you my friends!
