On the road entertainment . .

‘The train was packed and I was wedged between an Italian woman who meditated before playing chess on her iPad, and a large American woman who fidgeted and sighed for the entire 1 3/4 hours.

Arriving in Rome we are heading down the Via Nazionale– a five lane one way road when the traffic is brought to standstill by a 70 ish man dressed in football kit who demonstrated his ability to keep a football in the air by heading it for about 5 minutes! Nobody tooted, shouted or complained.’

Blue hands . .

I NEVER use blue ink . . I don’t know why but I just don’t like it….however it was dark as we  snuggled down in front of the wood burning stove and I sketched whilst we watched something innocuous on TV. I didn’t realise it was a blue pen… anyway it’s the hand of Constantine taken from a statue at the Capitoline Museum in Rome…. becoming a bit obsessed with this hand ..
